Previously, there was a 15-hour water shutdown in Johannesburg on Tuesday, 3 October.
This water interruption affected a wide range of areas in Johannesburg, including Wynberg, Bramley, Alexandra, Raumarais, Kew, Whitney Gardens, Corlett Gardens, Lombardy, Formain, Rembrandt, Dunserven, Lyndhurst, Glenhazel, Sunningdale, Savoy Estate, Gresswald, Highlands North, Parkwood North, Parkhurst, Craighall, and Hyde Park.
The purpose behind this significant water shutdown was to repair a leaking valve, while in Alexandra, it was all about decommissioning existing valves.
Residents had to stock up on water supplies and utilise them judiciously during this extended shutdown period.
