Metro World Kids, a prominent non-profit organization (NPO) dedicated to child development, is making a significant impact across South Africa by teaching valuable life lessons to young learners. The organization’s mission is to instill key values and morals in children, ensuring they are equipped with the principles needed to succeed in life.

On January 23, 2025, Metro World Kids visited Elethu Themba School in Eikenhof, located in the southern part of Johannesburg. This visit was part of their ongoing commitment to visiting the school twice a month. During their visit, representatives from the organization engaged the students and teachers through interactive storytelling, singing, dancing, and discussions focused on values like integrity, discipline, and respect.

Among the distinguished guests attending the event was Nobuhle Mthembu, the Speaker of the Johannesburg City Council. Mthembu delivered an inspiring message to the learners, emphasizing the importance of self-belief and respect. She shared her own journey from being a primary school student with dreams to becoming a leader in Johannesburg’s government. “I want each learner to understand that believing in yourself is the most important thing in your life. It will lead you to where you belong,” said Mthembu. She also highlighted the significance of respect, stating that giving respect leads to earning respect, an essential lesson for personal growth and success.

Metro World Kids representatives, like Glison Niekerk, further reinforced the importance of integrity and discipline, explaining how these values lay the foundation for a strong, successful future. “We want learners to understand they have to build a life based on respect and moral value, as that is what will take you into places where you can achieve whatever you want to,” Glison stated. The focus is not only on academic success but also on creating secure, happy living situations for the children, regardless of their circumstances.

In addition to these educational talks, Metro World Kids also runs feeding schemes in Johannesburg South, ensuring that children in need receive meals while participating in the program.

The children at Elethu Themba School were enthusiastic and engaged throughout the session, actively answering questions, participating in games, and learning valuable lessons. Metro World Kids’ approach creates an enjoyable and secure environment where learners can absorb essential life lessons while having fun.

Through these visits and initiatives, Metro World Kids continues to contribute to the development of future leaders who will build a brighter, more prosperous South Africa.
