SASSA confirms June 2026 grant payment dates: 2–4 June

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed its payment schedule for June 2026, rolling out social grant payments across three days at the start of the month.

Who gets paid and when

SASSA will distribute June 2026 grants over three consecutive days beginning on Tuesday, 2 June. The schedule is:

  • Older Person’s Grants – Tuesday, 2 June
  • Disability Grants – Wednesday, 3 June
  • Children’s Grants – Thursday, 4 June

Why payments are staggered

According to the announcement, payments are staggered across three days to reduce congestion at pay points and ATMs. Beneficiaries are encouraged to collect their grants on their designated payment day to avoid long queues.

Collection and card reminders

For those collecting via ATMs or retail stores, payments are typically accessible from the morning of the confirmed date. The agency advises beneficiaries who use Postbank accounts or SASSA cards to ensure their cards are active and in good standing before payment day.

e‑Life Certification reminder

SASSA also used the payment announcement to remind beneficiaries about its e‑Life Certification platform. The portal is a self‑service digital tool that allows grant recipients to complete mandatory life certification from home through the SASSA Online Services Portal.

The platform uses secure biometric verification through the electronic Know Your Client (eKYC) system. Beneficiaries who have the necessary means are strongly encouraged to use the portal instead of visiting offices in person.

“SASSA is committed to paying the right social grant to the right person at the right time.”

Consequences of not certifying

SASSA warned that failure to complete life certification when directed can result in payment delays or suspension of grants.

If you or someone in your household depends on a SASSA grant, check the date that matches your grant type and plan to collect on that day.
