E-hailing robbery suspect arrested in Mamelodi-Nellmapius
E-hailing robbery in Mamelodi-Nellmapius has ended in an arrest more than a month after a female driver was held at gunpoint.
Benoni FM reported the update after a post that read, ‘E-HAILING GUNPOINT ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED’, while saying the case had drawn wide public attention online.
The original robbery circulated widely after dashcam footage showed the armed hold-up, with community members claiming they had identified the suspect. Benoni FM also said Tshenolo Private Investigations helped locate the man, adding another layer to a case that spread quickly across social media.
A separate dashcam clip widely shared criminals allegedly ‘requesting a ride before turning on the driver’, a reminder of the risks e-hailing drivers face on the road.
