Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and Nhlamulo Ndhlela to challenge MK party expulsion in Johannesburg High Court
Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and Nhlamulo Ndhlela have filed papers to challenge their June 2026 expulsion from the MK party. The Johannesburg High Court will hear the application on 6 October 2026.
Two expelled MK party members have gone to court to contest their removal from the party. Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and former national spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela have filed papers seeking to overturn their expulsions and to reinstate Ndhlela as a member of parliament. The Johannesburg High Court will hear the application on Tuesday, 6 October 2026.
Court challenge filed
The pair were expelled from the MK party in June 2026. Their legal papers argue against those expulsions and specifically seek the reinstatement of Ndhlela to parliament.
Party’s stated reasons for expulsion
The MK party announced the expulsions after accusing Zuma-Sambudla and Ndhlela of gross misconduct. The party said it reached the decision after considering a series of actions, public statements and activities by Jacob Zuma’s daughter and the former national spokesperson.
What happens next
The Johannesburg High Court hearing on 6 October 2026 will determine whether the expulsions and the removal of Ndhlela from parliament will be set aside. Further developments will follow after the court hearing.
