Tyla unveils 14-track A*Pop tracklist in fluorescent room, says new sound is ‘limitless’

According to IOL, Grammy-winning singer Tyla has revealed the full tracklist for her sophomore album A*Pop, sharing the 14-song lineup ahead of the record’s July 24 release.

Tracklist reveal as event

IOL reports that Tyla turned the tracklist reveal into a visual event rather than a simple image post. She transformed a blacklight room into a canvas and revealed each song title with fluorescent spray paint while the album track “She Did It Again”, featuring Zara Larsson, played throughout the video.

What’s on A*Pop

According to IOL, the 14-track album includes previously released songs “Chanel”, “Is It”, “Is It Love” and “She Did It Again”. The tracklist also features new titles listed by IOL as “That Girl”, “Kiss”, “Fairytale”, “Mr Nonchalant”, “Hot Tubs”, “Feel Something”, “Double Blind”, “Right Now”, “I Don’t Care” and “Crazy of Me.”

How A*Pop sounds

Speaking to IOL about what listeners should expect, Tyla said one of the biggest differences on this album is how much more she leans into her vocals.

“I think on this album I’m just singing more, like I’m utilising my voice a bit more than I did on the first one, so I’m curious to see what the Tygers think about that,”

Artistic aims

IOL says Tyla framed A*Pop as reflecting where she is now and the music that shaped her growing up. The singer told IOL she wanted to show more of herself and celebrate the range of genres that influenced her.

Looking ahead

According to IOL, the tracklist reveal has increased anticipation for A*Pop, which follows the global success of Tyla’s self-titled debut and arrives on July 24.
