Look: team takes on a 1 671km truck pulling challenge for conservation
A 1 671km endurance challenge aimed at uniting South Africans behind charitable causes will begin in Centurion on 2 November, Joburg Etc reports.
The Bigg Pull challenge sets off from Centurion next week
The Bigg Pull will see a 20-member team pull a truck from Centurion towards Paarl over 41 days, passing through towns across the country before reaching the Western Cape on 12 December.

According to the official Bigg Pull website, the initiative combines physical endurance with fundraising and community engagement, with the journey broadcast live daily.
The challenge also marks the return of an initiative first undertaken in 2003, when strongman Wayne Price led a team in pulling a truck from Centurion to Cape Town.
Raising funds for conservation
Among the causes supported by the 2026 challenge is the WRSA Foundation, represented by team member Stephen Tsalavoutas.

The Wildlife Ranching South Africa website confirmed the foundation’s participation following the challenge’s launch in August. The organisation supports work related to research, education and responsible wildlife management.

Organisers say the event is about bringing communities together around a shared purpose, using the slogan ‘the rope, carried by many, pulled by One’.
Members of the public can support participating charities through donations, sponsorships and by following the team’s progress.
The challenge is scheduled to finish in Paarl on 12 December. Updates and live coverage are available through the official website.
