Three Arrested in Connection with Shooting During Foiled Morningside Robbery

In a significant breakthrough, police have apprehended three suspects allegedly involved in the shooting during a botched Morningside robbery, where a businessman was targeted outside his residence on Coleraine Drive. According to Eyewitness News, the arrests occurred on Thursday night, mere hours after the attack unfolded.

Law enforcement, alongside private security firms, successfully traced the vehicle used by the assailants. Eyewitness News previously reported that the victim’s wife escaped with a substantial sum of money as the suspects fired upon her husband’s vehicle.

Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi stated, “The team, with the assistance of private security companies, followed up on information which led to the three suspects, who were found driving the same vehicle that was used during the shooting. One of the suspects had a firearm, which will be subjected to ballistic testing. All three suspects are expected to appear before court soon on charges of attempted murder.”
