In a recent development, a dead body was recovered from a dam by police divers. He was estimated to be in his early 50s, from a dam near Mayfield Ext 5, Daveyton.

According to Sergeant Raider Ubisi, the spokesperson for Putfontein SAPS, law enforcement officers received a distress call, leading them to a grim discovery. They found the body of an unidentified man floating in the dam.

Ubisi shared, “The deceased was found clad only in blue short trousers, and there were no visible injuries on his body. A black T-shirt and a pair of black shoes were discovered not far from the dam.”

Authorities are currently operating under the suspicion that the man may have ventured to the dam to engage in ritualistic activity.
