Nkomaba Trading and Projects carried out construction work which they completed in April 2021. The new clinic design is based on the relationship between the public spaces and various wards. Different sections are divided into acute, antenatal, chronic, emergency, and central administration and waiting areas. Each section will function independently and be closed off according to the clinic’s daily needs.
Stakeholder and community participation occurred before construction began, cultivating a more sustainable sense of ownership, civic pride, and citizenship. The JDA has 22 years of history in successfully implementing capital projects. CEO Mokgema Mongane said, “we are proud that the launch of this modern clinic represents better healthcare for residents of Doornkop.”
The JDA plans its area-based development activities and other interventions with the Department of Development Planning and engages with client departments to design and construct infrastructure assets.
