Latest suspects in Thabo Bester jailbreak due in court

On Monday, two individuals, a 35-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man, were arrested at their residences in Bloemfontein. According to Jacaranda FM, the South African Police Department suspects the pair have connections to the escape of the convicted murderer and rapist, Thabo Bester, from the privately run Mangaung Correctional Centre in May last year.

According to national police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe, G4S dismissed the two control room operators. The police believe they have a strong case against all accused parties and continue to investigate the incident thoroughly to ensure effective arrests that will stand up in court.

Dr Nandipha Magudumana, an IT expert named Teboho Lipholo, and a dismissed G4S employee Senohe Matsoara are all expected to attend a court hearing on Wednesday for a formal bail application.
