Pretoria North Police Nab Suspect with Stolen Aluminium Possession

A 35-year-old male will appear in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court today. The police have charged him with negligent and reckless driving and possessing a stolen aluminium extrusion. The police, after initiating a high-speed chase, successfully apprehended the suspect and recovered the aluminium extrusion, which was estimated to be worth R20,000 and weighing 245 kg.

The incident unfolded as Pretoria North sector police, on routine foot patrol at the Blaauw Village shopping complex, noticed a Toyota single cab bakkie transporting suspicious-looking aluminium extrusion. The driver, upon the approach of the police, fled recklessly, triggering a pursuit that culminated in the recovery of the stolen aluminium in Stasie Street.

The detained driver is now under investigation as authorities work to determine the origin of the stolen aluminium extrusion.
