President Ramaphosa Vows to Punish Perpetrators of Truck Attacks

President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed his strong stance against those who target trucks and other economic facilities, stating that they should face the full force of the law. This comes in response to the recent destruction of six trucks on the N3 highway, resulting in its closure for a significant portion of Sunday as reported by ENCA.

President Ramaphosa has assembled a team to investigate the incidents in response to these attacks. He voiced his concerns about the negative economic impact, likening the attacks to economic sabotage. The burning of six trucks, which serve as vital arteries for our economy, is deeply troubling. President Ramaphosa has called for a comprehensive report from intelligence agencies on the matter. He emphasised that it is unacceptable for trucks and facilities that contribute to the economic growth of our nation to be targeted in such a manner.
