Ramaphosa Acknowledges SA Sportswomen’s Repeated Demonstrations of Excellence

South African sportswomen’s achievements took centre stage in President Ramaphosa’s recent weekly newsletter. According to Jacaranda FM, he commended Banyana Banyana for their remarkable performances at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The Proteas Netball team also earned praise for their strong showing at the World Cup in Cape Town. Reflecting on history, Ramaphosa highlighted that South Africa hosted the ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup, with the national team reaching the final.

Ramaphosa stressed the government’s commitment to improving women’s sports. He emphasised the importance of creating an environment for the following wave of female athletes. With government, business, and the sporting community collaborating, the President believes that strides toward equality in women’s sports can be achieved, contributing to a more equitable society.
