Water leak leaves Joburg south residents without water

Johannesburg Water is currently doing infrastructure repairs that have resulted in water supply interruptions in the Southern Suburbs on Tuesday, 18th April.
The water disruption results from the maintenance of a leak on the rising main at Forest Hill Pump Station, according to Johannesburg Water.

Southern Courier reports that the maintenance project started at 8:00 am, and the water utility expects it to last until 5:00 pm.

The following areas have been affected by this repair:

  • Haddon,
  • Lindberg Park,
  • Bellavista Estate,
  • Forest Hill,
  • Chrisville,
  • West Turffontein,
  • Gillview,
  • Oakdene,
  • Rosettenville,
  • Toweby,
  • Townview Kenilworth and
  • The Hill.

Johannesburg Water has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the outage. It will provide an update when more information becomes available.
