Eight Suspected Robbers Arrested After Shootout in Centurion

Police arrested eight suspected robbers on Tuesday after an armed robbery at a business in Sunderland Ridge, Centurion, ended in a shootout with private security officers along the R55 near Raslouw.

According to police, officers were called to the scene during the gunfire exchange. When the shooting stopped, eight suspects, including one who was injured, were taken into custody.

Authorities seized two firearms, as well as the getaway truck and another vehicle believed to have been used in the robbery.

Police confirmed the firearms and vehicles will undergo forensic and ballistic testing as part of the investigation.

The arrests come amid a rise in violent business robberies across Gauteng, where suspects often target warehouses and logistics firms in coordinated groups.

Police have urged businesses in industrial areas like Sunderland Ridge to tighten access control and improve surveillance systems, saying collaboration with security firms continues to help disrupt organised robbery syndicates.

Investigations into the Centurion robbery are ongoing.
