DJ Sox mourns 10-year-old son Busa after two months in intensive care

South African DJ Sox is mourning the loss of his 10-year-old son, Busa, who died on Sunday after battling severe pneumonia and spending two months in intensive care on life support.

The DJ shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional tribute, remembering his son’s bravery throughout his hospital stay and reflecting on the pain of losing a child at such a young age.

Despite the efforts of doctors and nurses who cared for Busa, the young boy did not survive, leaving his parents devastated.

“My boy, you fought a good fight. You were so brave, and I am so proud of you,” Sox wrote.

In his tribute, the DJ spoke about the reality of facing life without his son and the pain of knowing he would never hold him again.

“No parent can ever be ready for the pain of losing a child so young. I miss you more than words can explain, and it hurts knowing I won’t get to hold you again,” he wrote.

The family’s grief comes after two months of hoping and praying for Busa’s recovery while he remained in intensive care.

Despite the loss, Sox said his faith in God continued to offer him comfort as he tried to come to terms with his son’s death.

He expressed his belief that Busa was now resting in God’s arms, describing him as an angel watching over the family.

Family prepares to lay Busa to rest

As the family prepared to lay Busa to rest on Wednesday, Sox asked God for the strength to face the funeral and the difficult days ahead.

“Even through this heartbreak, I trust God and His will, though I may not understand it,” he said.

The DJ also thanked friends who had supported him and his wife throughout Busa’s illness, acknowledging the prayers, kindness and love they had received during the difficult period.

He expressed gratitude to the medical team who cared for his son, including the doctors who tried to save his life and the nurses who looked after him during his two months in intensive care.

In his tribute, Sox made it clear that his son’s memory would remain with him for the rest of his life.

“I love you, my boy. I’m going to miss you every day, and I will carry you in my heart for the rest of my life,” he wrote.
