Passenger Causes Chaos Over Change on SA Flight, Forces Emergency Landing
A South African domestic flight was diverted after a passenger caused a disturbance over not receiving the correct change for a bottle of water. The man became increasingly agitated during the flight, forcing the crew to take action.
In a video posted by TikTok user @kundaimurapa, fellow passengers can be seen restraining the man with cable ties. Two of them reportedly had security backgrounds and stepped in to subdue him before the flight landed.

The man, who repeatedly insisted he needed to be in Durban despite boarding a Cape Town-bound flight, shouted as the situation escalated. “Fortunately, we had two passengers who had a background in security services and they subdued this dude,” said @kundaimurapa.
The flight was ultimately diverted to Bloemfontein, where the passenger was removed from the aircraft.
