SA’s Biggest Mall-based Gaming Tournament to Get Underway at Clearwater Mall
Get ready for an exhilarating gaming extravaganza at Clearwater Mall in Gauteng, as the SHIFT Gaming Experience, presented by MTN and Hyprop, arrives from 14 to 16 July 2023. This much-anticipated event is not just a tournament; it also promises an immersive gaming experience for all to enjoy.
Gaming enthusiasts across the province can showcase their skills in the Football Tournament featuring the popular FIFA 23™ game. Competitors will vie for preliminary round prizes and a chance to advance to the national finale, set to take place at Canal Walk from 25 to 27 August 2023.

Clearwater Mall will be a hub of intense gaming action, with additional competitions spanning F1™, Fortnite™, fighting games, and Minecraft. Winners and runners-up can win enticing prizes such as gift cards and spot prizes. At the same time, spectators can participate in exciting giveaways. Attendees can also explore games like Rocket League, Brawlhalla, and Aim Lab. Moreover, they can experience MTN Arena+, the country’s pioneering cloud gaming platform, and engage in a thrilling keyboard rebuild race to win a brand-new keyboard.
The SHIFT Gaming Experience started in April and will conclude in August 2023. Players throughout South Africa will compete in online heats and face-to-face qualifying rounds held at malls nationwide. The national finale will see the top finalists battling to become the country’s greatest gamer. The winner will get R20,000. The second and third places will win R10,000 and R5,000 prizes, respectively. A Call of Duty tournament with a shared prize pool of R60,000 will also run.
