Massive police crackdown in Alberton: Over 250 criminals apprehended in Operation Okae Molao

265 arrested in Operation Okae Molao in Alberton

Police officers and community patrollers teamed up to fight crime in Alberton, a district in Ekurhuleni. According to Southern Courier, this operation occurred on the 23rd of March. As a result, they arrested 265 suspects for various offences. These crimes included car theft and home and business robberies.

Operation Okae Molao was launched after increased criminal activity in the area. The officers issued 73 traffic fines, caught 14 illegal immigrants, and arrested suspects for drug-related offences. They also distributed brochures with crime prevention advice. They also patrolled areas around schools to keep students safe.

Major General Anna Sithole led the operation and thanked the teams for their hard work. She said no serious crimes were reported while operating in Brackendowns.
