The ongoing trial focused on the admissibility of confession statements, which has seen Gininda providing crucial testimony. In this trial within trial, the lawyer for two of the accused, Advocate Thulani Mngomezulu, specifically requested that Gininda read one of his statements, uncovering the bombshell revelation.

The case involves five men being tried for the 2014 murder of the football star, Senzo Meyiwa, at Khumalo’s home, where she was his girlfriend at the time. The confession statement pointedly implicates Kelly Khumalo as the person who instructed the accused to kill Senzo Meyiwa. The suspect’s statement further details the pre-incident sing collection, the assembly outside the house during the assassination, and the dropping off of the accused at the specified cell phone tower.
