Benoni Flying Squad in Brakpan

The Benoni Flying Squad in Brakpan made four arrests over the past weekend and recovered two homemade firearms. According to BFS spokesperson Warrant Officer Grant Giblin, units arrested three suspects for possession of drugs along Station Road, High Street and Voortrekker Road. They also confiscated Nyaope (heroine), cat (cocaine) and crystal methamphetamine in these separate incidents.

On Sunday, members followed up on information that led to an address along Brodigan Street in Dalview, where a 63-year-old was arrested when members discovered a homemade pipe gun and a pen gun together with five shotgun rounds, seven .22 rounds and one 9mm round. Investigation continues in all cases.

The suspects, aged 27 to 63 years, will be appearing in the Brakpan Magistrates Court, facing charges of drug possession, a homemade firearm, and unlicensed ammunition.
