The organisers of the Mrs eSoweto Beauty Pageant are calling upon women aged 35 to 55 to participate in the second annual crowning ceremony of the pageant. This year’s celebration and crowning will be held at the YWCA Hall.

Fikile Motaung, the pageant’s founder, announced that entries for the 2023 pageant are now open exclusively to mature women residing in Soweto. The pageant welcomes engaged, married, divorced, or widowed women with a strong interest in working with the Soweto community.

The main objective of the pageant is to find a representative who can serve as a mother figure to the residents of Soweto. Motaung expressed the importance of empowering women during this phase of their lives, as many may experience declining self-esteem and confidence. The pageant aims to remind them of their inherent power, beauty, and capability to positively impact their communities.

In addition to the crowning event, the pageant will offer various workshops to equip contestants with essential skills. These workshops will cover mental health, modelling, public speaking, entrepreneurship, beauty, fitness, and cooking.
