The annual Hall of Femme Awards, hosted at Standard Bank’s Rosebank head office on October 19, was a celebration of exceptional women’s contributions. These awards recognise women who have dedicated their lives and careers to empowering and uplifting others while advancing women’s leadership in the service of humanity.
The honourees at the event were Dr. Brigalia Bam, Advocate Mojanku Gumbi, and Advocate Winifred Karagwa Byanyima.
Irene Charnley, the president of IWFSA, shared the forum’s vision, emphasising the importance of raising our voices and taking purposeful action toward achieving equal representation for women.
Karagwa Byanyima expressed her gratitude for the award, highlighting the significance of recognising African women’s triumph. She emphasised her commitment to feminism, pan-Africanism, and socialism, inspired by South African women’s efforts.
Advocate Gumbi acknowledged the achievements of the women in the International Women’s Forum, noting their impact on the world through their contributions.
