Johannesburg fire is worse than the Boksburg tanker explosion

A Gift of the Givers volunteer says the Johannesburg fire is worse than the Boksburg tanker explosion. According to Jacaranda FM, the death toll has now reached 73 individuals.

Among the deceased are seven children. The youngest of them is believed to be under two years old. Clifford Mabe described the harrowing scene at the site: “We saw bodies lying on the floor, we were busy with firefighters giving them water so we had to pass through the bodies. So it was really bad and when I spoke to one of the firefighters he said it seems like there is still more bodies in the building.”

43 people also sustained injuries during the incident. Many of these individuals suffered from smoke inhalation as they bravely escaped the hijacked building.
