Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa warns of a difficult winter ahead and says Cabinet will need to make tough decisions to reduce load shedding. The electricity demand exceeds Eskom’s capacity, and the energy availability factor among power stations is at 53%. Ramokgopa outlines three options to address the gap and emphasizes the need to ramp up generation capacity and reduce demand without undermining households’ ability to meet daily needs and businesses’ operations as reported by The Citizen.

Government officially terminated the national state of disaster implemented to deal with South Africa’s energy crisis.
