Throughout the bail proceedings, the accused consistently maintained his innocence, acknowledging only taking and discarding the clothes of the pregnant school teacher. Notably, the 21-year-old from Mpumalanga was captured on camera wearing the same blue T-shirt that Kirsten Kluyts had on moments before her body was found.

The court, during previous proceedings, concluded that the state had presented prima facie evidence supporting the charges of premeditated murder and robbery. The upcoming court appearance will further unfold the legal proceedings of this tragic case.
