In a remarkable achievement, Mohammed Idrees Ebrahim, an eighth-grade student from a Liverpool secondary school, secured the top spot in the Gauteng Mathematics Olympiad.
He proudly represented the Ekurhuleni North District and, in recognition of his outstanding performance, was bestowed with a tablet, two medals, a trophy, a bag, and a mathematics kit during the award ceremony held at Laerskool Haakdoorn in Pretoria on September 16. Notably, Mohammed had already claimed the first position in the Ekurhuleni North District Mathematics Olympiad during the initial round, a remarkable feat that propelled him to the provincial level of the competition.
