Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind Claude, has filed paperwork for a proposed stock-market listing that could become one of the largest initial public offerings (IPOs) in history, Joburg Etc reports.

The San Francisco-based company filed a Form S-1 registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on 26 October 2026, taking a significant step towards offering its shares to public investors. The filing proposes a listing on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol ANT, according to Anthropic’s announcement.

The company said the number of shares to be offered and the price range had not yet been determined. The registration statement must also become effective before the shares can be sold.

According to the Associated Press, the proposed offering could raise up to $100 billion and value Anthropic at between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion. These figures are projections rather than a confirmed offering price or market valuation.

The potential listing comes as demand for AI tools grows and technology companies commit substantial resources to computing infrastructure and model development.

The listing’s final size, pricing and timing remain subject to regulatory review and market conditions.
