Boksburg court remands suspect in Anti-Gang Unit killings

A Reiger Park Anti-Gang Unit suspect has been remanded in custody after appearing in the Boksburg Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 12 August.

The 23-year-old suspect, identified as Regan Collis in an update by Crime Watch on X, faces charges linked to the deaths of two Anti-Gang Unit officers and two civilian women.

SAPS previously confirmed that the suspect was arrested following a multi-disciplinary tracing operation in Germiston.

Police allege that he was involved in the killings of Constables Tlomatsana and Sibeko, along with two civilian women.

According to the Crime Watch update, the suspect was remanded in custody following Wednesday’s appearance. His bail application is scheduled for 25 August 2026.

SAPS said the suspect was out on bail when he was arrested and had several pending cases. These include two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder and a charge relating to an unlicensed firearm.

The latest court appearance follows the deaths of the two Anti-Gang Unit officers in Reiger Park on 7 August. Government previously described the incident as a suspected ambush and said resources had been deployed to find those responsible.

Investigations remain under way, with SAPS saying further arrests have not been ruled out.
