Dazzling Array of Stars Set to Shine at Galaxy 947 Joburg Day

Anticipation is building to a crescendo as Johannesburg prepares for an exceptional music extravaganza that is poised to make history in the world of music. The eagerly awaited annual musical showcase, Galaxy 947 Joburg Day, is all set to unfold its brilliance on Saturday, September 2nd, at the stunning Crocodile Creek Polo Club in Lanseria. This celebration of spring, the grandest in Johannesburg, is set to feature a constellation of stars, with Mango Groove headlining – a legendary South African favourite known for its contagious fusion of pop, jazz, and African beats. Notably, DJ Maphorisa, a distinguished record producer, songwriter, and luminary of the Amapiano genre, will grace the 2023 lineup as reported by the Joburg Newsroom.

Among the other luminaries scheduled to perform are hip-hop maestro K.O., the chart-topping electronic ensemble GoodLuck, and the versatile Jeremy Loops. Loops, celebrated for his unique blend of folk, rock, and electronic harmonies, is sure to infuse the event with his inimitable essence.

The festival’s roster also boasts award-winning songstress Shekinah, the dynamic DJ Zinhle, the sensational live band Micasa, the renowned Prince Kaybee, and the iconic afro-pop duo Mafikizolo, who are set to weave a nostalgic thread between the past and the present.

Ravi Naidoo, 947 Station Manager, remarks that Joburg Day heralds a convergence of musical influences, promising a day characterised by remarkable music, unforgettable performances, and an electric atmosphere.

Justin Hume, Vice President of Mobile Experiences at Samsung, echoes the excitement surrounding the collaboration with 947.

“This partnership establishes a new standard for an extraordinary brand experience that seamlessly merges music, arts, and technology. Get ready to sing, dance, and revel in the magic of live music in Johannesburg,” Hume exclaims.

Tickets are available for R350 per adult, R150 for children aged 12 to 18, and R950 for a family of four.
