Minister of Electricity Inspects Eskom Power Stations

Over the next two weeks, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, the Minister in the Presidency responsible for Electricity, will be visiting all 14 Eskom power stations to engage with management, workers, and unions. The Minister will start his tour today at Kriel and Duvha power stations in Mpumalanga, accompanied by his advisor and senior officials as reported by SA News.

His primary goal is to significantly reduce the severity and frequency of load shedding and ensure the full implementation of the Energy Action Plan.

With the newly transferred powers and functions, he aims to resolve the energy crisis urgently.

The Minister has been engaging with various key stakeholders and has met with the Chinese Ambassador to South Africa to discuss possible areas of collaboration.
