Triple murder suspect Eugene Botha will make his second appearance at Germiston Magistrate’s Court on January 11. The 43-year-old was apprehended by Elsburg and provincial SAPS on January 2, facing charges of murder and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. Botha’s arrest followed the discovery of the bodies of his father, Johan, mother, Jane, and sister, Suné, on the back of a bakkie in Rondebult.
Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi stated that SAPS is investigating a case of triple murder. According to Nevhuhulwi, police officers patrolling the area were anonymously tipped off about the abandoned vehicle. Upon arrival, they found three bodies in the car. The victims, including Botha’s family members, all had sharp stab wounds.
Botha first appeared in Germiston’s Magistrates Courts’ courtroom A on January 4. After a brief appearance, authorities took him back into custody.
