Australian man dies by suicide in Bali after alleged murder of two children, police say

An Australian man died by suicide at the weekend after allegedly killing his two young children in a bungalow on Bali, Indonesian police said on Tuesday.

Police describe sequence based on CCTV and wife’s statement

Denpasar police chief Leonardo David Simatupang told reporters the conclusion followed an examination of CCTV footage and a statement from the victim’s wife.

“Based on the analysis of available CCTV footage and the statement from the victim’s wife, it is suspected that the husband murdered his two children and then took his own life,”

Wife was not at the scene

Police said the man’s Indonesian wife was in Jakarta visiting her parents when the incident occurred.

No charges to be pursued, police say

Denpasar police chief Leonardo told reporters that authorities would not pursue charges in the case.
