Mercedes-AMG has partnered with South African rugby stars Lukhanyo Am and Makazole Mapimpi to provide them with the latest generation of the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC. As the newest members of Mercedes-Benz South Africa’s Friends of the Brand program, the players will each drive a C 43 for the next year.
Am will collaborate with Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, while Mapimpi will serve as an ambassador for the Mercedes-Benz Cars division. In preparation for the Rugby World Cup later this year, the rugby stars hailing from Eastern Cape will use their newly acquired Mercedes-AMG C 43 cars to commute between home, Sharks provincial turf, and the Springboks training camp.
Mark Raine, the Co-CEO of Mercedes-Benz South Africa and Executive Director of Passenger Cars, proudly boasts that their state-of-the-art production facility in East London produces the best of the best in every segment. He introduces the C 43 4MATIC as the most sought-after performance cars in this segment, with breathtaking performance, innovative racetrack technology, and the highest degree of luxury. He believes that Lukhanyo Am and Makazole Mapimpi are the perfect match for these performance machines, given their innovative gameplay and relentless determination to succeed at the highest level of one of the world’s toughest sports.
Robert Hoffmann, the CEO of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services South Africa, adds that they are extremely proud to partner with Lukhanyo Am, who is synonymous with high performance and agility, just like their brand. Hoffmann believes that rugby is entrenched in the fibre and history of South Africa, and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services enjoys a rich and successful 26-year history in the country, 26 years of getting customers into their dream Mercedes-Benz cars. They welcome the Springbok centre as a part of their family and consider him a new ambassador for their brand.
