Update: On Thursday, March 16th, citizens became concerned after the kidnapping of biokineticist Riana Pretorius in Gqeberha. As reported by The South African, she remains missing despite the arrest of two people and a ransom demand of R2 million. The Hawks are currently searching for the third suspect who may be able to provide leads to Pretorius’s whereabouts.
The incident occurred outside a medical practice in Newton Park, where armed men forced Pretorius into a white Toyota Corolla. While the Hawks have located the vehicle and arrested one suspect, there is still no sign of Pretorius. Friends and family have requested that the public continue to pray for her safe return.
