Completion of Phase Two Project Anticipated by Early 2024

Ward 102 Councillor Lucinda Harman is urging residents to remain patient as the second phase of the bulk stormwater system upgrade faces delays. The three-part project, initiated three years ago, is currently in its second phase, which began in May between Pine and Vale avenues.

Delays arose due to the relocation of existing water lines, requiring approval from Joburg Water. Construction manager Collen Nkosi detailed the ongoing work, including sidewalk construction and bulk stormwater pipe installation.

Despite setbacks, the completion date for phase two is anticipated by January 30, 2024, with phase three in the design stage. Harman assures residents of regular updates and communication throughout the project.
