Joburg water restrictions to continue
Until Johannesburg Water specifies otherwise, stage 2 water restrictions will apply to the city. Water supply problems have been plaguing Gauteng’s various metro areas for weeks.
The utility also works to prevent a complete system failure. The country is experiencing rolling power outages simultaneously with the Joburg water restrictions.
However, according to Joburg Water spokesperson Puleng Mopeli, there is reason to be optimistic because water systems have improved.
She said, “Johannesburg water systems remain stable, and the entity appreciates work done by the communities in reducing consumption. As we look into the new week we are confident with the healthy systems we will continue providing water supply to the residents of Johannesburg.”
