No-confidence motion to be held against Tshwane speaker

Tshwane’s speaker, a member of the African Transformation movement, will face a no-confidence motion on 12 April, according to coalition spokesperson Cornè Mulder. The coalition accuses the speaker of acting in the interests of the ANC and EFF rather than the governing coalition as reported by Jacarandafm.

Mulder said that the coalition rejected calls by the ANC and EFF for the speaker to remain in place and that urgent court papers would accompany the motion to ensure it went ahead. The motion comes after the election of the DA’s Cilliers Brink as mayor.
