South Africa is mourning the untimely death of rapper Costa Titch, who reportedly collapsed and died at a music festival in Johannesburg. His family released a statement confirming the news of his passing. They expressed their deep pain and gratitude for the support they had received.

“Death has tragically knocked at our door. Robbing us of our beloved son, brother and grandson, Constantinos Tsobanoglou (28), who South Africa had come to love and idolize under his stage name Costa Titch,” read the family statement.

The death of Costa Titch has left the South African music industry reeling as fans, and fellow artists alike mourn the loss of yet another young talent. Just over a month ago, the country was rocked by the death of Kiernan, AKA Forbes, and a year ago, musician Rikhado Makhado, also known as Riky Rick, was found dead early last year.

Phil Mphela, a South African entertainment commentator, tweeted: “RIP: Costa Titch Nelspruit-born artist and dancer, real name Costa Tsobanoglou, has passed away. He was 27. #RIPCostaTitch.”

Da Les, a South African Hip Hop artist, also paid tribute to Costa Titch, writing:” RIP Costa Titch. Great talent gone too soon.” Meanwhile, politician Julius Malema sent out his condolences on Twitter, simply saying:” Costa Titch,” with a broken heart emoji.
