Sex and the City originated as a newspaper column written by Bushnell for The New York Observer between 1994 and 1996. It soon became a book and became an incredibly successful TV series starring Sarah Jessica Parker.

The enduring popularity of the series led to the release of two full-length Sex and the City movies and the recent announcement of a new HBO television series called And Just Like That.

The beloved character of Carrie Bradshaw, portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker, was inspired by Bushnell’s own experiences in New York and is often regarded as her alter ego.
