SPCA Pet Food Drive Yields Approximately 300kg of Donations
On September 9, Sweet Deal Properties, a local business, demonstrated its commitment to ensuring that the hungry animals at the Boksburg SPCA receive the necessary nourishment. In a heartfelt initiative, the family business organised a pet food and clothing drive, reaching out to the compassionate locals and encouraging them to contribute by dropping off or donating pet food and clothing items in Beyerspark.

The response from the community was remarkable, with a total of 300 kilograms of dry pet food and 50 cans of pet food, along with various pet snacks, collected during the drive. The event organisers, including Candice Barnard, expressed their gratitude for the public’s generosity.
The donated pet food will be presented to the animal welfare team, ensuring that the SPCA’s hungry animals receive sustenance. Additionally, the pet blankets and other clothing items collected will be donated to the SPCA charity shop, where they can find new homes and purpose.
This act of kindness was made possible with the support of various individuals and sponsors, and the organisers extended their thanks to everyone who played a part in making this event successful. Special recognition was given to Razak Attorneys for their contributions and to volunteers who dedicated their time to assist on the day. The event’s sponsors included Telesense Ooba Boksburg, Stacey from Hammond Pole, Nelsons & Sons Beyerspark, Cindy Ras from Infinity Nails, and Warren Potgieter from Eurolux Perfumes, all of whom contributed to the success of this meaningful initiative.
