Gauteng embraces high-tech solutions in the battle against crime

Gauteng has turned to tech to help in fighting crime. Against ongoing concerns over safety and the demand for increased police visibility, the Gauteng Community Safety MEC Faith Mazibuko and Police Commissioner Elias Mawela have jointly launched a drone program, as reported by eNCA.

With the hope that this program will prove effective in the fight against crime, the deployment of drone pilots and the recruitment of 6,000 crime wardens are among the measures announced by Premier Panyaza Lesufi to address the alarming rise in criminal activities within the province.
