Eskom alarmed by vandalized pylons

Published

on

Eskom is troubled by the ongoing theft and vandalism of pylons, which is spreading throughout Gauteng. Five pylons collapsed in Hammanskraal, and six in Pretoria East and Mamelodi earlier this month, leading to power outages as reported by the SABC News.

Plans are in place to rebuild the damaged infrastructure, as theft compromises the stability of the towers, putting the public at risk and causing economic damage.

Eskom spends a considerable amount of money replacing damaged pylons and network equipment.
