Residents Rejoice as Clinic Reopens

In a reassuring development for Eldorado Park’s Region G residents, the Extension 2 Clinic reopened on October 23, 2023. The reopening was made possible through a joint effort involving senior health management, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD), the South African Police Service (SAPS), and the employee assistance unit as reported by Joburg Newsroom. While some unresolved issues remained following a public meeting on October 18, preparations began on October 20 to ensure a smooth relaunch.

The clinic underwent deep cleaning, stock checks, and the removal of an obstructive tree on the premises. Most significantly, the addition of three security guards has significantly enhanced safety. This improvement fosters a greater sense of security for the dedicated nursing staff committed to serving the community.

The City of Johannesburg calls upon the community to uphold their commitment to safeguarding the clinic, including respecting staff and adhering to established procedures and policies. Additionally, residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities or incidents of vandalism in the clinic’s vicinity to the Eldorado Park police. Special vigilance is advised, particularly after hours when security guards may be vulnerable to potential attacks. This collective effort is vital for ensuring the clinic’s continued operation and the well-being of the community it serves.
