Families have named the seven passengers killed along with the pilots in the Palm Beach Learjet crash on Sunday, 1 November, and shared a tribute to their loved ones, reports Joburg Etc.

Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp, their children Emma, four and Charlie, two, were among those killed. The statement also named family friends Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr and Anita Maria Cetina, the children’s caregiver.

Relatives described Adam and Helen as devoted parents, calling Emma and Charlie ‘the light of their lives’. Reed and Fehr were remembered for their adventurous spirits and love for those closest to them.

Cetina was described as more than a caregiver. The families said she had become part of the family through her tenderness and devotion to the children.

Two pilots also died in the crash

The Learjet 60 was travelling from Austin, Texas, to North Eleuthera in the Bahamas when it crashed near Greenacres in Palm Beach County. All nine people aboard died.

Local broadcaster WPTV identified the pilots as Captain Jeff Gregory and 20-year-old co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras.

The families thanked first responders, investigators and the Palm Beach County community for their support, and sent condolences to the pilots’ relatives. They asked for privacy, with memorial service details to follow once arrangements are made.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) lists the investigation as ongoing. The cause of the crash has not been confirmed.
