Police investigate death of 12-year-old girl in Westbury

A 12-year-old girl in Westbury was killed on Saturday. Gauteng police are investigating. SABC News reports that unidentified perpetrators shot her while she was at a friend’s birthday party.

According to Westbury Community Activist Jefferson Alistair, the incident occurred while the girl and her friends were outside. A group of individuals approached and began firing shots in their direction. Alistair believes the intended target may have been someone else, as the girl bravely ushered her friends to seek safety inside a nearby house. Unfortunately, she sustained injuries in the incident and, despite efforts to save her, she passed away.
