water shutdown in Centurion

Planned work on the Louwlardia and Brakfontein water meters on February 27 may cause a water shutdown in Centurion. The Tshwane metro announced that areas supplied by these meters might experience water disruptions due to maintenance. Rand Water notified the metro about the need to replace and upgrade these meters, with work scheduled from 09:00 to 17:00. Consequently, consumers in affected areas should expect interruptions during this period.

The planned maintenance could impact large sections of the region these meters serve. Specific areas that might experience disruptions include:

  • Country View,
  • Cranbrook Vale,
  • Hennopspark,
  • Highveld,
  • Kosmosdal,
  • Louwlardia,
  • Rooihuiskraal,
  • Simarlo, and
  • Zwartkop.

Residents were urged to use water sparingly during this time, avoiding activities like:

  • watering gardens,
  • washing cars, and
  • filling swimming pools.

Additionally, they were advised to:

  • flush toilets only when necessary,
  • close running taps while brushing their teeth, and
  • reduce daily water usage as much as possible.
