Residents have been rattled by reports of theft in Tweedy Park. The incident occurred due to a breach in the concrete fence surrounding the fortified area.

Pieter Brits, a 68-year-old resident of one of the cottages, discovered that his braai and five plastic chairs had been stolen from his garden. Realizing the vulnerability posed by the hole in the fence, Pieter took action by constructing a metal frame to cover it.

Despite his efforts, he could not track down the stolen items after visiting numerous pawn shops and junkyards in the area. Residents have raised concerns about community security, with some expressing disappointment in the available security options.

The Brakpan Herald attempted to contact the City of Ekurhuleni regarding plans to repair the fence and implement additional security measures but has not received any feedback.
