Philip Nel Park water supply upgrade continues

The Tshwane metro announced in a statement that it would continue upgrading and connecting to the Philip Nel Park water supply, west of Pretoria, on Tuesday, April 23, leading to a potential disruption in some areas of Pretoria West. Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said this is a follow-up from the initial upgrade and tie-in connection, which metro technicians carried out on January 30 on the network on the corner of Transoranje and Quagga roads. “Although an interruption to the water supply will be avoided at all costs, it may occur for 10 hours,” he said.

Some areas in Pretoria West, including Kwaggasrand, Philip Nel Park, and Pretoria Industrial Township, may experience a supply interruption from 08:00 to 18:00. “Tshwane apologises profusely for the inconvenience that may be caused due to the above-mentioned upgrades.” Residents are urged to continue making water-conservation measures part of their normal lifestyle to mitigate any disruptions in water supply. They can report water leaks, burst pipes, and incidents of water wastage to the designated hotline numbers provided by the municipality.
